Day 10: February 8
The thought for today is FAITH.
President Barack Obama won his party’s nomination and the general election by energizing the country with the motto, “Yes, we can!” Years earlier, Cesar Chavez encouraged the farm workers with a similar call – “Si, se puede! Yes, it is possible!” We are also challenged to say “Yes God!” and stand in the faith that we have within us that which we need to succeed in our efforts to awaken the world to Peace.
Unity minister and author Eric Butterworth defined faith as expectancy. It is not ‘blind,’ nor is it merely some hopeful “pie in the sky” wishing; rather it is knowledge of Principle and acting in accordance with that Principle with an expectancy that it is working here and now exactly as it should.
“The whole of God is present in every point of space at the same time,” wrote Butterworth. “Take time to meditate on this great idea. In other words, God doesn’t come and go. God doesn’t capriciously move substance from God’s supply ‘up there’ to fill your needs ‘down here.’ Nor does God answer prayer in some kind of coming forth. God is always present, totally present – as a Presence.”
Do you understand this? “The whole of God” is present everywhere and always – the Wisdom of God, the Power of God, the Abundance of God, the Love of God, and the Peace of God – is in every part of your being and all around you. You are intimately connected to and One with this Presence. All that God Is can be accessed by you in every moment.
Have no fear as you move forward, for Perfect Love casts out all fear. Fear is an illusion of the ego-self. Only Love exists. “If God is for you, who can be against?” asked Paul in the New Testament. Since God is the only presence, there can be no other to stand against It. The only conflict that exists is the one you create in your mind through duality thinking when you consider yourself as separate from God and everything and everyone else. The ‘obstacles’ you perceive are opportunities for learning. As you learn the lessons they present to you and remember Who You Are, the ‘obstacles’ will vanish. Say to the mountain, “get out of the way” and it will seem to move; the Truth is the mountain was never there.
Even if you’re not sure how you are to proceed, say “Yes, we can!” and move forward in the faith that Spirit will guide you every step of the way. As you take the first step, doors will open and new paths will present themselves to you. The Wisdom of Divine Mind is yours. You will find your answers. All things are possible through the Christ-Consciousness – your Higher Self. Take time to access that and expect the Highest and Best Good.
Today, I say “Yes! I can!” face any obstacles I perceive with the faith that the Divine Presence will remove them. I know that these obstacles are only in my mind as blocks that keep me from remembering Who and Whose I Am. Developing a Oneness Consciousness will dissolve the distance I might feel between us. As I spend time meditating on the idea that God is wholly and completely present in every point of space at the same time, I understand that Peace is not only a possibility, it is here, right now.
