Day 4: February 2
The thought for today is CARING.
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around,” said Leo Buscaglia. Buscaglia’s quote resonates with yesterday’s observation from Mother Teresa that there is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation than for bread.
We all have an innate need to connect to Love; the Truth is we are never apart from It. We come from Love and are part of Love. We, because of faulty perception, view ourselves as separate from our Source and one another. All the ill we feel about ourselves and our world is a direct result of this wrong way of thinking and seeing.
By engaging in acts of caring, however, we reawaken to the Truth. To ‘reconnect’ with Love, we must practice it not only with others but ourselves as well. When you know and share Love, you create a channel for Peace, for Love and Peace are One.
Take time to care for yourself today. Care for your body through exercise or eating a healthy, nutritious meal. Pamper yourself. Feed your mind with inspirational reading. Spend time in meditation and feel the Presence of Love within you. And don’t forget to share the Love! Change a life today with a kind word or a random act of kindness. Share a hug. Take time to listen to someone. Show compassion. Care.
