Day 2: January 31
The thought for today is SMILING.
Everyone smiles in the same language. ~ Unknown
The shortest distance between two people is a smile. ~ Unknown
Mother Teresa said, “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of Love; a gift to that person.” Smiles cost nothing to give, yet their value is immeasurable. It’s amazing how a smile can change someone’s day. It changes not only the recipient of the smile, but the giver as well. It lifts each person physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thich Nhat Hanh wrote that a smile is the most basic kind of Peace work. When you connect with another by way of a smile, you plant the seeds of Peace.
Today, I will take the initiative to share a sincere smile with each person I encounter. As I offer this gift, I will silently bless it with the knowledge that I am planting the seeds of Peace.
